Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Ms. Martin graduated Cum Laude from Washburn University with a degree in Legal Studies. While obtaining her undergraduate degree, Ms. Martin was a member of the Washburn University Mock Trial Team and volunteered her time with residents in local retirement communities.

Prior to joining the Law Office of Young, Kuhl, & Frick, LLC, Ms. Martin worked as a law clerk for a family law solo practitioner in Kansas City, Missouri. While in law school, Ms. Martin was an active member in the Children and Family Law Center where she served as Co-President of the Center. She obtained the Family Law Certificate upon graduation, earning a CALI award in Professional Responsibility and Domestic Violence Training for receiving the highest grade in the course amongst her peers. Additionally, Ms. Martin was a Certified Legal Intern in the Washburn Law Clinic where she received her student practice license. In Clinic, Ms. Martin worked on guardianship, dissolution (divorce), and adoption cases, where she earned the “Outstanding Clinic Team Award” from the Clinical Legal Education Association, a National Organization, based on her collaboration and communication skills with her partner and clients. Ms. Martin graduated from Washburn University School of Law with Dean’s Honors, graduating in the top 20% of her class.

Ms. Martin, like all members of the firm, is dedicated to the practice of Family Law. When she is not at the firm, she enjoys cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, collecting vinyl records, and spending time with her rescue dog, Luna.
