The Law Offices of Young, Kuhl & Frick, LLC was established nearly 30 years ago in 1992 and has since evolved into a family law firm with three well respected and experienced partners as well as our associate Chandler Hass-Buente, and an exceptional team of paralegals and administrative professionals. Along with James H. Young and Abraham D. Kuhl, Jared T. Frick has the experience you expect when hiring a family law attorney in Kansas City.
While his name is a recent addition to the firm, Jared Frick isn’t new around here. He actually joined our team seven years ago back in 2014 as a law clerk. Since then, he’s changed his role from being promoted to associate in 2015 and most recently as a partner at the start of 2021.
So who exactly is Jared Frick and what should you know about him as our new partner? Continue reading to learn about his background and experience and all about his passion for family law.
Education & Experience
Mr. Frick has plenty of legal experience, however, you may be surprised to learn that he hasn’t always been a family law attorney. He first attended Missouri State University (go Bears!) and earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. His first job after college was an instrumental music director in Springfield, Missouri.
After developing a passion for family law (we’ll get to that a bit later), Mr. Frick later attended the University of MIssouri (go Tigers!) and graduated from their Kansas City School of Law in 2015. He graduated in the top 5% of his class, earning summa cum laude honors. Mr. Frick gained experience in law school by serving as a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing Department and even sat as a Justice on the Honor Court. Furthermore, he also competed on the Trial Advocacy Team and was active in the Children and Family Services Clinic, assisting families in the Kansas City area in various family law matters.
Why the Career Switch?
Mr. Frick has always been intrigued by family law matters, but it wasn’t until he became a music instructor that he felt the desire to change career paths. Because he taught students from various backgrounds, he unfortunately saw many of the problems some of his troubled students faced: domestic violence issues, inadequate clothes, and other types of neglect scenarios. Seeing the hardships his students faced made him want to take a more hands-on approach with addressing these issues. He then decided to attend law school and make the switch from working in music to family law.
Special Interests & Hobbies
Jared Frick is especially interested in music, afterall, his first degree earned was in music education. In addition to music, he also has a passion for cinema. When he’s not playing music or catching movies at the cinema, he enjoys spending time at the gym focusing on weightlifting. Other hobbies include cooking (especially dessert) and spending time with his dog Bella, a 60 lb lap dog.
Mr. Frick’s new role change will be more of a behind the scenes one. In addition to representing clients and assisting in cases, he’ll also be focused on the business side of running a law firm, something he’s eager to do.
It’s easy to see why Jared Frick was made a partner this year. His drive to help his clients and passion for advocating for them in the courtroom is something that comes naturally and he generally wants the very best for them. His experience also adds value to our team, something our clients appreciate. Once again, we are thrilled to have Mr. Frick as a new partner and look forward to this new chapter and seeing how our law firm will continue to grow!
